The concept set the framework for innovative solutions with large cantilevered steel tower structure, integrated chilled beams, double skin facades, reuse of original trachyte, conservation of Joseph Albers “Wrestling” and heritage interpretation.

Perceived heritage constraints have been turned into commercial opportunities, with contemporary workplaces of large naturally lit floor plates and smaller tower floors both attracting premium tenants and rentals.

The work that has been done here at 5 Martin Place embodies the high standards of public and private amenity we look for in Sydney and I hope will inspire similar qualities in other new developments or redevelopments in the area.
