343 George Street
Renewed for the Future

A respectful renewal of one of Sydney’s finest interwar commercial buildings, 343 George Street re-establishes this State Heritage-listed building as a prestigious address at the western end of Martin Place.
Originally designed in the 1920s by Kent & Massie for the Commercial Banking Company of Sydney, the building embodies the confidence, elegance and solidity of its era. JPW’s renewal strategy delivers a contemporary workplace while celebrating the enduring character of the Commercial Palazzo style. The works sensitively renews significant heritage elements while introducing upgrades to meet contemporary expectations for accessibility, amenity, and sustainability.
The renewal includes new End-of-Trip facilities within the original vault, upgraded services, enhanced accessibility, and the creation of new shared spaces at rooftop level. The revitalised George and Barrack Street entries improve address and arrival, while workplace upgrades across all floors provide light-filled, flexible tenancies that retain the unique heritage fabric of the building.
Targeting a 5 Star NABERS Energy rating, 343 George Street exemplifies how thoughtful design can sustain and adapt heritage for the future.
