Update: Cowper Street Social Housing

The Cowper Street Social Housing project in Glebe is nearing completion, set to deliver 75 new homes that thoughtfully integrate heritage preservation with contemporary design. The development includes two eight-storey towers and a three-storey terrace building, offering a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom residences.

Sustainability is central to this project, which is targeting a 6 Star Green Star rating and high NatHERS ratings. Innovative features include the use of cross-laminated timber (CLT) for the primary structure, green roofs, solar power, water retention systems, and extensive landscaping. These elements not only reduce the environmental footprint but also promote resident wellbeing and strengthen community connection.

With our client, Homes NSW, and with the support of The King’s Trust Australia, this project exemplifies how sustainable design can enhance social housing outcomes. Delivered by Kane Constructions Pty Ltd and their team, including Group GSA and TTW.
