The directors and key staff of JPW have been together since 1985. We have a pro-active and multi-disciplined design approach that seeks to turn constraints into opportunities and to develop highly innovative design solutions. The pursuit of professional excellence is our fundamental aim, which can only be achieved through responsible design, sound technical expertise and competent project management.

Carol Zhang

Principal

Carol has diverse experience in masterplanning, urban design, high rise and cultural buildings, and landscape.

Since 2000 Carol has led many significant projects in China from conception to completion.

Carol collaborates actively with local partners in Nanjing, Suzhou, Shenzhen, Qingdao and Weihai to transform urban sites, waterfronts and infrastructure into future cities. In Suzhou Carol has 30 projects in urban design, landscape and architecture complete or under construction.

Carol’s award-winning projects include the China Mobile Building- winner of the Architects Institute of Australia International Architecture Award and Swan Lake Park China, Australian Institute of Landscape Architects National and International Landscape Award.

Matteo Salval

Principal

Over the past 15 years Matteo has developed his expertise overseas and in Australia over a range of diverse projects.

Matteo is currently leading the Martin Place Metro North Tower, Australia’s first integrated Metro station development. Within this project innovative solutions to complex integration challenges are developed every day.

Completed projects include multi-residential and commercial buildings, cultural and education institutions and the award-winning Anzac Memorial Centenary Project – the extension of one of Sydney’s most significant heritage landmarks.

Matteo’s believes the best architecture is based on understanding place and is realised through strong technical skills, material knowledge and precise detailing.

Natalie Minasian

Principal

Natalie has over 10 years of experience working across a broad range of award-winning projects. She has successfully delivered projects ranging from complex commercial buildings to bespoke interior designs.

Natalie brings a collaborative and highly considered approach to her practice and excels in client engagement and project planning. Her role also includes leading the Quality Management System for JPW.

Completed projects include the Macquarie Bank Headquarters renewal of 50 Martin Place and the White Bay Cruise Passenger Terminal.

She is currently working on the Sydney Metro Martin Place Metro North Tower at construction stage and the Sydney Opera House Strategic Building Plan Renewal.

Walter Brindle

Principal

Walter thrives on active participation in diverse public, commercial, cultural, and urban design projects that shape cities.

As a talented analytical designer, Walter excels in leading collaborative, multidisciplinary teams and delivering high-quality design solutions to meet complex requirements.

Walter was a project architect for 50 Martin Place Renewal and consolidated his expertise as a team leader in the successful delivery of the $2.8 billion Parramatta Square urban renewal initiative. He now leads the $1 billion Adelaide Festival Plaza project.

Walter is an elected member of the NSW Chapter Council of the Australian Institute of Architects, an examiner for the NSW Architects Registration Board.

Wayne Dickerson

Principal

Wayne is an architect and technology specialist with advanced expertise in BIM, Generative Design, and Automation.

His conviction that technology is an enabler rather than a mere tool is paired with a deep understanding of construction techniques and detailing. Wayne is a respected expert in architectural practice who is sought after for his ability to implement cutting-edge technology to realise design goals.

He is committed to innovation and excellence with over 25 years of experience spanning iconic and award-winning projects including the Sydney Opera House, the Art Gallery of NSW, and the sustainable renewal and adaptation of the historic 1920s 5 Martin Place.
