A proposal prepared in collaboration with MAKO Architecture for a design excellence competition for the renewal of a 19,000m2 Waterloo industrial site including several active heritage infrastructure assets to be retained.
The proposal placed all 238 apartments where un-compromised residential amenity and security could be ensured and maximised; created a larger, sunnier, greener and more active public square than the site masterplan; and envisioned a community oriented to a park and a plaza with a streetscape framed by new buildings with a highly crafted masonry character below a distinctive landmark residential tower.
