6&8 Parramatta Square is an integrated commercial and mixed-use project that defines the leading corner of Parramatta Square and a city-making development critical to the evolution of Parramatta and its role as Sydney’s second civic centre.
JPW have been central to the development of the Parramatta Square precinct since winning a 2013 open international design competition for the first stage.
JPW’s winning scheme decisively resolved the ground plane to realise open, on-grade pedestrian connections from the Parramatta Train Station concourse and the city’s primary civic space.
Civic scaled foyer and terrace spaces connect each stage of the project to the surrounding public domain, setting new benchmarks for holistic workplace strategies to deliver quality and amenity within integrated commercial city developments, enhancing the overall urban experience while supporting the diverse needs of occupants and visitors. By integrating these civic elements into the fabric of the development, the scheme sets a benchmark for creating vibrant, accessible environments that elevate the standard of urban workplace environments.
Above ground, best practice environmental and sustainable design are the foundations for expansive, flexible floor plates, with high performance facades providing abundant natural light and thermal comfort. Various atria configurations connect tenants across workplaces, and frame unique vistas of the surrounding urban context and Greater Sydney. These thoughtful design approaches create a harmonious balance between functionality, sustainability, and visual engagement, enriching the overall user experience within the development.
6&8 Parramatta Square, a 55-storey tower, is the final stage of this integrated development that has delivered a combined total of 200,000m2 of fully tenanted commercial office space, and established a world-class mixed-use precinct and vital civic meeting place for the broader city and region. The development demonstrates a holistic approach to urban renewal, creating a landmark destination that enhances Parramatta’s role as a thriving centre for commerce, culture, and civic life.
