JPW appointed to update Sydney Opera House Strategic Building Plan
JPW are pleased to be appointed by the Sydney Opera House following a competitive procurement process to update the 2001 Strategic Building Plan.
The Sydney Opera House, inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List, is a masterpiece that embodies beauty, creativity and the power of art and ideas.
As the nation’s premier tourism destination, the Sydney Opera House is a world-class performing arts centre and a celebrated community meeting place, welcoming almost 11 million visitors and hosting around 1,800 performances every year.
The 2001 Strategic Building Plan was developed by JPW in collaboration with Jørn Utzon, the original architect. The document has successfully guided significant projects and improvements at the Sydney Opera House for the last 20 years.
Informed by the current context, knowledge and thinking, the renewed Strategic Building Plan will provide strategic direction for the Sydney Opera House as it responds to the changing environmental, social and artistic needs of today and the future
