6&8 Parramatta Square wins multiple accolades in the CTBUH 2024 Awards of Excellence

6&8 Parramatta Square (6&8PS), designed by JPW for Walker Corportation, has won multiple accolades in the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) 2024 Awards of Excellence. The project received awards in the categories of Best Tall Building by Height: 200-299 metres and Best Tall Building by Region – Oceania.

6&8PS is the final stage of an integrated mixed-use precinct that has become the civic heart of Parramatta and Greater Sydney, serving as a vital meeting place for communities within the region.

At ground level, the project defines Parramatta’s principal urban public space, and provides vital links between existing public transport infrastructure and the expanding core of the city’s CBD to the north. A series of civic-scaled external and internal spaces across four podium levels accommodate diverse uses that activate the precinct throughout the day and evening, contributing towards a world-class experience for the public and the building’s occupants.

The striking tower form of 6&8PS is the tallest in Parramatta, identifying the precinct and surrounding CBD as the pre-eminent urban centre in Greater Metropolitan Sydney. The tower is also the largest commercial building in Australia, presenting high-performance workplaces that have transformed the benchmark for commercial building quality in the region to attract major government and private sector tenants and become the catalyst for continued investment and vitality in the city.

Congratulations to Walker Corporation on this significant achievement and the continued recognition of Parramatta Square in setting new global benchmarks across all aspects of property development and placemaking.

JPW acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country and honours their continuing connection to lands, waters, skies and communities.

We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging – as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work; and the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation on whose land our Studio is located.
